I made Brain Froggy because I kept losing my days.
Brain Froggy came out of chronic-illness and post-COVID brain fog. Exhaust, and the kind of overstimulation that makes you shut down. I needed a daily help, and meditation or yoga wasn't for me. Here's how it started, and why I built it the way I did. And if it is for you.
Is this you?
What brain fog actually feels like.
Brain fog is the feeling of mental exhaustion that makes everyday life harder to manage. People describe it as feeling disconnected, slowed down, overwhelmed, or unable to think clearly. Tasks that normally feel simple, like reading, holding a conversation, making a decision, or staying organized, start to require far more energy than usual.
Where it comes from
It happens for a lot of different reasons. The most common ones:
- Burnout.
- Chronic illness.
- Anxiety.
- ADHD.
- Sensory overstimulation.
- Poor sleep.
- Long screen exposure or doom-scrolling.
- Emotional exhaustion.
- Post-viral conditions, including long COVID.
The early signs are quiet on purpose
The hard part about brain fog is that it builds up slowly. The first signs feel small enough to ignore. Awareness is the part that matters most: the earlier you spot these, the smaller the reset has to be.
- Re-reading the same sentence without it landing.
- Forgetting what you were about to do.
- Struggling to find a simple word.
- Feeling mentally cloudy.
- Getting unusually irritated by sounds, lights, or interruptions.
- Sudden fatigue or slower thinking.
- Headaches or emotional numbness.
- The sense that your brain just cannot keep up anymore.
Learning to spot these earlier is the whole point. Brain fog is often your body asking for rest before it reaches complete exhaustion. The sooner you notice, the smaller the pause needs to be.
If brain fog is constant for you, please talk to a doctor.
Brain Froggy is designed as a supportive tool and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical care. Everyone's health journey is different, and professional guidance can help you better understand the underlying causes of your symptoms.
HOW IT STARTED?
Created During Difficult Days
I made Brain Froggy because I kept losing my days. Chronic pain and brain fog could overcome my daily life. If I wouldn't take a break, my body would decide to take it despite my schedule. By 4 pm the first signs landed: words slipping, sounds getting louder, a small task suddenly feeling heavy. By 6 pm I was pushing through the rest of the day.
Electrolytes, coffee, yerba, matcha. Nothing worked.
Then I heard that I need to observe what happens earlier. Easier said than done. I noticed that the first signs was spot on time. That's why Brain Froggy is to help take your pace before brain fog.
I tried other apps before this one. Most of them were too complicated. Too overwhelming. Each one wanted to be my daily project. I wanted something small to reach for in the moment, not something I had to check in with.
Brain Froggy is small on purpose. One little frog who breathes with you for one minute, before the fog has time to land. The animation is the instruction. It's a quiet space that gives your brain time to slow down and recover.
Awareness is the part that matters most. The earlier I start. Close your eyes for a few seconds and take a few deep breaths. The sooner I spot the signs, the smaller the reset has to be. That's why reminders sit at the core of the app. They let you act before the fog has landed, not after. The whole shape of the product is built around that one idea: catch it early.
Brain Froggy is for people who lose hours to brain fog and sensory overload. It came out of my own life with chronic illness and post-COVID complications, but the overload pattern shows up far quicker than I expected.
The office worker who hits a wall at 3 pm. The parent whose patience runs out in a supermarket aisle. The student whose brain shuts off mid-lecture. We don't assume anyone has a label. We notice that the same hour each day tends to be the hardest one. Start an hour before any sign, to let you process, and postpone signs.
Brain Froggy is not therapy, and it will not fix anything on its own. It's one small companion app, one frog, one minute, when the day gets loud. If brain fog is constant, sudden, or paired with symptoms that worry you, please talk to a doctor. Brain Froggy is for the days in between.
Why a frog? Because a small animated frog cannot lecture you. It cannot push another goal at you. It sits there, takes a slow breath, and waits for you to do the same. Above all Froggy is cute to make your day better. The breath is the point.
I'm part of WeCodeMobile, a small studio in Gdańsk: one developer, one designer, and a frog. Brain Froggy is my first animated app. There are no investors behind us, and no ad model paying for the work. The small subscription is how the lights stay on.
I hope we could help you.
Ready when you are.
